International Residence · Providencia, Santiago

A house with history, a real community.

We have lived in this house in Providencia since 2010. Every season, students arrive from Europe, North America, and Asia to learn in Santiago — and they stay long enough to take a piece of Chile home with them.

01 · History

A house that fulfilled 16 years receiving people.

Casa F opened its doors in 2010 with a simple idea: to offer international students coming to Santiago a place to live that is neither a hotel nor a hostel — a real house, with teal walls in some rooms, a hanging paper lamp, and overgrown plants left over from before.

What changes is who passes through. What remains the same is how they are received.

02 · Community

Part of the university life from Santiago.

Casa F doesn't live in isolation. Every Wednesday our residents participate in Wednesday Po, a weekly gathering where students from sister residences and nearby universities come together for drinks, music, and to meet each other.

That's where many people form their group of Chilean friends for the semester. The house doesn't organize the event—it opens its doors for them to come.

On Wednesday, every week.

Rotating student gatherings in Providencia, Ñuñoa, and Bellavista. Open to all, no registration required. Most Casa F residents attend at least once a month.

It's the best way to break out of the "exchange classmates" circle and meet Chileans who study or work in the neighborhood.

Free admission
03 · Rooms

Twelve rooms, each with its own character.

No two rooms are alike. The house's layout has remained consistent throughout each renovation, so every room has its own light, window, and a distinctive piece of furniture. The teal wall appears in several rooms.

05 · Testimonials

I arrived at Casa F in 2015 for a semester abroad. I returned twice more before I turned 30. Every time I pass through Providencia I feel that a part of me is still there inside.

— Mathilde Bertrand · France · Autumn 2015 cohort

The thing nobody tells you about Casa F is that you don't really leave — you just stop physically being there. The WhatsApp group from my cohort is still active eight years later.
